Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about Sleep Consultation for Babies & Toddlers

1. My baby doesn’t sleep well – what can I do?

Many babies struggle with falling asleep and staying asleep. It's important to identify the cause: Is it due to the sleep rhythm, external stimuli, or natural developmental phases? In my gentle sleep consulting for babies, I analyze your current situation and find loving, individualized solutions for more restful nights.

2. Why doesn't my baby sleep through the night?

Babies have a different sleep rhythm than adults. Waking up during the night is normal and can have various reasons: hunger, a need for closeness, teething, or developmental leaps. I help you gently promote your baby's sleep – without pressure or sleep training.

3. When is sleep training useful?

I intentionally work without sleep training and letting babies cry it out. Instead, I focus on attachment-based methods that help your baby fall asleep safely and relaxed – without pressure or rigid rules.

4. What should I do if my baby cries while falling asleep?

Crying is a form of communication. I help you better understand your baby's signals and develop a gentle bedtime routine that gives both of you security – without rigid methods or forced sleep training.

5. How can I help my baby sleep better?

Babies need a loving, secure environment to sleep. A calm evening routine, a gentle transition to sleep, and an age-appropriate daily structure can help. In the sleep consultation, I find individualized solutions for more relaxed nights with better sleep.

6. How much sleep does my baby need at which age?

Every baby is different, but there are general guidelines:

  • 0–3 months: around 14–17 hours of sleep per day

  • 4–6 months: around 12–16 hours of sleep per day

  • 7–12 months: around 11–15 hours of sleep per day

  • 1–3 years: around 11–14 hours of sleep per day

If your baby sleeps significantly less or is constantly restless, I can help you find the causes and address them.

7. What is the difference between sleep support and sleep training?

Sleep support means lovingly guiding your baby to sleep without letting them cry alone. Sleep training, on the other hand, often aims to get the child to "sleep through the night" by letting them cry for longer periods. My approach is attachment-based and individualized, without rigid rules.
